  • Have You Been to Eataly Yet?

An awesome way to describe Eataly: " It'll be a slice of Italy in New York." said by Joe Bastianich, who is half of the brain behind this operation. He and Mario Batali have put together this gigantic warehouse consisting of 7 restaurants, a marketplace with everything you could ever need and to top it off, a Brewpub on the roof featuring beer from Dogfishhead and Russian River Brewery

Okay so it's not really a warehouse, but in the grand scheme of things, this place is massive. I myself am most excited for the rooftop brewery! Unfortunately this will be the last thing to open. The marketplace and restaurants are already open and the brewery is set to open sometime in November.

The marketplace consists of wine, artisinal cheeses, cured meats and will serve as a general place to buy fresh groceries. The 7 restaurants all focus on different markets, such as a wood-fired pizza and pasta bar and a crudo and seafood bar. The wood fire ovens were imported from Italy and the bread oven from Spain.

Pretty impressive, if I say so myself. Don't forget about the coffee and gelato bar also! Picture this place 3 times as big as Chelsea Market with an Italian flare, but even more variety.

I was completely overwhelmed my first time there, I only walked around a portion of the place, mostly because it was packed full of people and it was somewhat difficult to navigate. Check out some of the other delicious pictures I took.

Have you been to Eataly? Has it lived up to the hype, what did you think?
